New Comedy looks at
human relations and social current events of the common man while Old Comedy
focused on the life a particular family. One of the other big different mode of
old time comedy and new time comedy is that now the show is all about
promotional events they are totally looking out for the profit and about
increasing the TRP of their concern programs.
Today all the comedy
serials are running behind to gain more and more TRP values than that of
entertaining the audience. And so the mode of quality in today’s comedy based
daily soaps is zero if it is compared to the old classic serials of 90’s. Even
today if “Hum Paanch” or “Office- Office” it will relate to today’s generation
to and the viewers will also be interested in watching those serials once
again.
No doubt the concept
and the story line of today’s serial is also good but they are always over
taken by the crucial interference of the Promotional Activities. One of the
main drawbacks of today’s entertainment factor is also the time allotted for
the advertisements. If we look in depth then we can easily clear out that the
daily soaps are shown only for 15 minutes and remaining 15 minutes is the
advertisements. This ration itself says about the limitations of the daily
soaps.
As all this directly affect
the viewer and the quality of time as an audience is totally lost. So comedy as
an art form it have to prevented properly to reach to the audience properly so
it’s up to us to decide that are we watching a standard type program on
television…?
The generation has
changed and everyone is running after one or the other thing and can’t stay
alive without the entertaining themselves and all the daily soaps programmers
are taking undue advantage of this situation which is indirectly making us to
follow the Agenda setting theory.
